For this activity, we decided to choose from the "learning and living the gospel" section. We watched a General Conference address given by Elder Perry entitled, "If Ye Are Prepared Ye Shall Not Fear."
We asked the girls to take notes as they listened, particularly on his suggestions for ways to be prepared. It was impressive how much information they took down! Then we discussed different life circumstances that can arise, and how to prepare for them.
Next we discussed different emergency preparedness items that are good to keep on hand. We talked about several uses a length of paracord can have.
Then we showed the girls how to make a basic paracord knot, shown above, that they could keep in their kit. There are lots of helpful Youtube videos on how to do these.
